Dubious Honor Award

Dubious Honor Award

It is no secret I hate politics. I registered as an Independent over 20 years ago because of what I was hearing politicians say and watching what they did. People can easily say anything they want but it is much harder to prove it is what they value. We see what was hiding in the whispers of morality manipulating the twisted understanding of what being a Christian is supposed to involve. This virus spread into the realm of the powerful politicians pretending to be honorable.

Their duplicity has taken over too many conversations we have today. Politicians claim “moral values” for the harm they inflict upon others. They claim their “faith” as a reason to remove that which God Himself granted all of humanity, as well as what the Constitution provided to be protected by those granted the power to insure all people may choose their own beliefs and no religious group or thought would be granted the ability to rule over all others.

And now we see the fruits of their deeds. They have obliterated the right for Americans to believe as they see fit in their own lives. For far too long they have hidden behind the label of “pro-life” when their actions proved the living hold no value to them, unless they are donating to their campaigns or showing up to vote for them. They scream and shout about how much “life”means to them and then turn around to protect the ability of slaughter weapons to be obtained by everyone with the money to purchase them. They seek to restore the death penalty.

Their values also remove all accountability for crimes committed against the country by the past resident of the White House refusing to leave after the voters delivered the eviction notice. They protect those who joined forces to obliterate every vow taken to “protect and defend the Constitution” and demanded the loyalty of all others among the GOP elected. They believe we have a combustable Constitution and fueled by false moral values. The majority on the Supreme Court claimed they would uphold the laws according to the same Constitution but when given the power to remove rights, the same rights they said were “settled law,” they removed those rights.

What did we do? We allowed them to continue to claim to be “pro-life” as if that would removed the stench of their decomposing souls. Women felt secure with their rights to decide what they wanted to do with their own bodies, and did not watch what the politicians were doing to manipulate their base while growing their power in so called “bible belt.”

They point to the Bible while screaming about “life beings at conception” while avoiding what the Bible said , “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” They avoid where it also says that God gave the power of free will to everyone, including the angels. That when Jesus preached He said his guidance was for those who choose to believe and follow Him, and how to treat others, as well as honor the laws of their government, all inhabitants had to abide by.

These politicians have proven they are not “pro-life” but are “pro-birth” because even a 9 year old girl, raped twice and became pregnant by the age of 10 was to be forced to give birth to the rapist’s offspring. When her parents brought her to another state to end the life form inside of her, they said the story was a lie and attacked those speaking up for the child.

“I’m amazed a 10-year-old got pregnant. … You really wrestle with that. That’s a tough one,” Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio, said Thursday.

Rep. Debbie Lesko, R-Ariz., said, “I can’t imagine being 10 years old” and pregnant, adding: “I don’t think I was even able to have children when I was 10 years old. … It’s just awful. It’s awful all the way around.”

Said Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas: “I’m a pro-life guy, OK? And God’s in charge on this. … We’re all God’s children. This is a tough call, and I don’t know if I know that answer right now, because now you’ve got another baby involved: She’s pregnant. … She’s a baby.”

Just days earlier, several high-profile Republicans said the story was fake, using it to accuse Democrats of overreach in their response to the Supreme Court’s ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, a Republican, said the story was likely to be a “fabrication.” Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, tweeted “Another lie. Anyone surprised?” in response to a Washington Examiner story about Yost’s saying he had found no evidence of the young rape victim.

When the rapist was found, and confessed to have raped the child at least twice, they offered no apology for attacking the child, her parents or to others defending her. They continued to spout contempt for anyone daring to speak truth to their power. Did they have any idea what all this did to the child suffering trauma after trauma and then being assaulted again by the politicians with the power to have protected her? She will need a lifetime of therapy to survive the choices that were forced on her! So will all the other females seeing their choices removed from their power to decide. If you think PTSD rates are high now, wait until the next report comes out and see how high they go after everything the GOP has inflicted on all of us!

This is how they earned the dubious honor award for turning against the Bible they claim to value and the Constitution they vowed to protect and defend. They are a prime example of what Jesus mentioned when He looked at the crowd gathered and spoke these words,

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Matthew 25:40-48

They claim to be on the right side of Jesus failing to consider a speaker faces the audience and those on His right side were in fact on the left side of the crowd. The people on the right side of the crowd were the goats and this they have proven time and time again because they stand in judgment of what others choose to believe and choose to do with their God given free will and what was supposed to be protect by the Constitution.

Jesus preached about treating other the way we want to be treated. Does that mean according to the pro-birthers they want others to regulate what they want to do with their own bodies? Does that mean they want people who hate the choices they make to be able to arm themselves with slaughter weapons and open fire on their gatherings? Does that mean they want others to condemn them for belonging to the wrong church? What is it they want from others?

It is no hard stretch of imagination to believe they want to have the choices they wish to take away from others, as long as no one tries to force them to conform, just as it is obvious the people defending the ability to choose are also defending the pro-birthers to choose what they they want for themselves. That is, after all, what choice means and what the Constitution was intended to protect.

As Americans struggle with high prices and a pandemic, the GOP members of the House and Senate refuse to do anything to alleviate our problems. They refuse to protect the rights of the living to live with the rights they choose and be free from fear of being slaughtered going to a grocery store, or parade or sending their born children to school without fear the weapons the GOP defend and protect, will get into the hands of evil people.

With all I have seen, I doubt I will ever vote for another Republican again. They have proven which side of Jesus they are on and it isn’t the right one, but it is their choice to “go away to eternal punishment.”
